KEK (High Energy Accelerator Research Organization) in Tsukuba, Japan operates the Photon Factory synchrotron and the Photon Factory Advanced Ring (PF-AR). The Structural Biology Research Center (SBRC) at the Photon Factory runs five macromolecular crystallography beamlines (BL-1A, BL-5A, BL-17A, AR-NW12A, AR-NE3A) and has pioneered long-wavelength native-SAD phasing at BL-1A.
