Founded in 2003, the SGC places all research outputs into the public domain without patents or restrictions on use. Major sites include SGC Oxford (hosted by the University of Oxford), SGC Toronto (University of Toronto), SGC Frankfurt, and SGC UNC (University of North Carolina). The Oxford site is closely integrated with the XChem fragment screening platform at Diamond Light Source.
