Director of the National Institute of Immunology (NII), New Delhi, India, and Grade VII Staff Scientist at NII. Computational biologist and bioinformatician known for work on structure and function prediction of proteins, genome analysis, and computer simulation of biomolecular systems. Supervises the Bioinformatics Centre at NII and the RiPPMiner resource (Bioinformatics Resource for Deciphering Chemical Structures of Ribosomally synthesised and Post-translationally modified Peptides). Elected fellow of all three major Indian science academies: the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, and the National Academy of Sciences India.

wwPDB role

Associate Member candidate representative for India on the wwPDB Scientific Advisory Committee. (Listed as regrets in the 17 October 2025 AC meeting per the annual report.) India is in process of joining the wwPDB consortium via an associate-member track analogous to PDBc.
