Professor of Structural Biology at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) School of Medicine, where he leads the Structural Biology Lab. Expert in X-ray crystallography with >150 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Nature, PNAS, and Angewandte Chemie. Research focuses on macromolecules involved in protein metabolism, stem cell differentiation, microbial pathogenesis, and non-canonical DNA structures (Z-DNA, G-quadruplex, triplex) - applying structural and chemical biology to cancer, infectious diseases, and regenerative medicine. Elected 17th President of the Korean Association of Radiophotonics Users, serving a two-year term beginning January 1, 2024.
