Tenured Full Professor and Principal Investigator in the School of Life Science and Technology (SLST) at ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai. Research focuses on molecular mechanisms of cell signaling (particularly the Wnt signaling pathway) and on Wnt signaling regulation in stem cells and its applications in regenerative medicine. Also affiliated with the National Facility for Protein Science in Shanghai, which is the organizational home of Protein Data Bank China. Contributed to notable COVID-19 structural biology work.
wwPDB role
Associate Member representative for China on the wwPDB Scientific Advisory Committee. PDBc was welcomed as a wwPDB Associate Member in 2022 and, per the 2025 AC report, now processes 100% of depositions from mainland China. Full-member transition is in progress (installing servers in Shanghai and training staff).
