Leads the Computational Biology theme at STFC Scientific Computing (~35 staff), based at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell. Background in theoretical chemistry and condensed matter physics; joined CCP4 in 1995 as a programmer at Daresbury Laboratory, became CCP4 Group Leader in 2007. Contributed TLS refinement in REFMAC and the automated molecular replacement pipelines MrBUMP and AMPLE. Co-created CCP-EM in 2012 and is PI on supporting MRC grants for that consortium.
