Info
ARIA (Ambiguous Restraints for Iterative Assignment) and CYANA (Combined assignment and dYnamics Algorithm for NMR Applications) are the two dominant NMR structure calculation programs. They automate NOE assignment and structure determination.
ARIA
- Developed by Michael Nilges and Benjamin Bardiaux at Institut Pasteur, Paris
- Uses CNS for structure calculation
- Open source
CYANA
- Developed by Peter Guntert, originally at ETH Zurich, now at Goethe University Frankfurt
- Proprietary license (free for academic)
- Torsion angle dynamics approach
Key Relationships
- Both produce structures deposited in RCSB PDB / PDBe
- Restraint data deposited in BMRB
- Peter Guntert is at Goethe University Frankfurt, same institution as Harald Schwalbe (Instruct-ERIC Director)
