Info

Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biophysics at UConn Health (Farmington, CT). Serves as Director of the Biological Magnetic Resonance Data Bank (BMRB), the NMR archive within the wwPDB consortium; Director of the Gregory P. Mullen NMR Structural Biology Facility; Director of the National Center for Biomolecular NMR Data Processing and Analysis (NMRbox.org); and Director of the Network for Advanced NMR (NAN). NMRbox is a freely available virtualisation platform providing hundreds of NMR software packages preconfigured in a single environment - a response to fragmentation in biomolecular NMR tooling.

wwPDB role

Principal Investigator for BMRB, the NMR member body of the wwPDB. BMRB was co-founded at the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1988 by John Markley (founding PI) and Eldon Ulrich (founding operational director). Hoch took over and oversaw the archive’s relocation to UConn Health, Farmington.
